Driving:
Please be aware
that Memorial Drive is closed from the Eliot Bridge to Western Ave. on Sundays; these directions are designed to avoid Mem.
Drive, except for the permitted crossing at JFK St.
From
Soldiers’ Field Road, take the Harvard Square exit and follow sign to Harvard Square/JFK St. Cross bridge over the Charles
River and go straight down JFK St. into the center of Harvard Square. Go through a major intersection, passing Out-of-Town
News on the right and the Harvard Coop on the left, then bear slightly left at a split in the road. DO NOT get into the far
left lane. Stay to the right after the split; at the next light (which comes up right away) bear right onto Mass. Ave. Go
down Mass. Ave through one traffic light and turn left at the second light (Starbuck’s on far left corner) onto Shepard
St.. Take Shepard to its’ end, turn left onto Garden St., then immediately turn left again, onto Walker St. Walker St.
Place is the first right off of Walker—it looks like a driveway or alley, but does have a street sign—and #2 is
the last house on the right. 1 or 2 cars can park in Walker St. Place, as long as they don’t block the car at the back
on the left as you pull in. On-street parking is unrestricted on Walker and surrounding streets on Sundays.
Walking:
From Harvard Square
T station, take the Church St. exit. Come up the stairs and turn right, go straight one block until you come to a light and
then bear left onto Garden St., keeping Cambridge Common on your right. Go straight down Garden St., passing the Sheraton
Commander Hotel on left; next you will come to a fork in the road at a traffic light: stay to the right, continuing on Garden
St. Just after the fork, you will pass Chauncy Street on the right, then take the next right onto Walker St. Pass two houses,
then turn right into Walker St. Place and look for the last house on the right.
