Anne Milton has spent her whole life in New England. After taking her bachelor’s degree in History and Education at
Boston University in 1978, Anne has had varied careers, first as a chef—exploring different cultures through cuisines—then
as a graphic designer and copywriter, and finally, in jewelry design.
Over the past several years, Anne has studied
silversmithing and wireworking techniques, and has become certified as a PMC Guild Precious Metal Clay Artisan. The New England
landscape is very much part of Anne’s design sensibility, as is the influence of both ancient and modern Asian art.
She uses a wide variety of materials—pearls, precious stones and metals, natural materials, vintage, machined, and
handmade art glass— together, to evoke the random beauty of woodland and seashore. Japanese and Chinese ideas of what
is balanced, harmonious and simple inform her compositions as well.
Anne sells her work at galleries, fine craft shows
and Open Studio events in the Boston area, and on her website, annedesigns.com. She also creates custom pieces by request.
